DUTCH FA INSISTS DANNY BLIND STAYS AS HEAD COACH

The Dutch football association has insisted that Danny Blind remain as the national team head coach.

Blind, who replaced 53-uear old Hiddink, sometimes in July failed to qualify the Netherlands team for European championships for the first time since 1984 after the team lost to the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

Blind who had a successful career at Ajax Amsterdam, both as a player and coach was thr assistant to Hiddink before he became the head coach.

According to KNVB director, Bertvan Oostveen: ‘’Blind will keep going as a coach. We have entered a process together, but everything that could go wrong could go wrong.

Oostveen also claimed that the football association is responsible for the staff, and blind must be allowed to lead the team which is currently made up of fairly young players.

The team captain Wesley Sneijder also supported the Dutch football association position.

“Blind must stay. This is not down to him; it is a collective failure,’’ he said.

Daley Blind also feel his father should still remain as the head coach of the national team. The Manchester united defender said his father took over the football team at a complicated period and so should be given a lot of time to perform his job.

Blind, who has the association’s backing, also reaffirmed that he won’t resign from his post anytime soon. According to him, it is quite unfortunate that the team did not make it to the European championship; however, the team has to work on its next important objective, which is to qualify for the world cup in Russia in 2018.

Blind whose contracts expires August 2018 after world cup finals in Russia is also confident that the team will look at what went wrong and work on their shortcomings for the world cup qualifying round.
